Working at RAURA

RAURA is a small product with a large surface area: public posts, private chat, notifications, safety tools, and RAURA Foods. People who work here spend time on details that users feel every day, such as whether a chat unread badge is honest and whether a shared link preview respects privacy.

We care about craft. That includes writing, design, kitchen operations, and the unglamorous work of keeping accounts, media, and policies consistent.

Official RAURA and RAURA Foods identities are reserved. Staff should never ask people to log in through a lookalike account.

What we hire for

We look for people who can explain a decision simply, ship carefully, and notice when a flow treats someone unfairly. Experience with consumer products, marketplaces, or community tools is useful but not required for every role.

Engineering work at RAURA includes web clients, APIs, media uploads, and the operational reality of shared hosting. Design work includes mobile and desktop reading, empty states, and policy pages like this one.

RAURA Foods also needs people who understand kitchens, inventory, and customer communication. That work is as much of the product as the feed.

How we hire

When a role is open, we describe the work in plain language: what you would own, what “good” looks like after a few months, and how we will assess the process. We do not ask for unpaid trial work that recreates the production app.

A typical process is a conversation about your work, a practical exercise related to the role, and a chance for you to ask us hard questions about the product. We aim to tell people where they stand instead of leaving applications open forever.

We may keep an application for a limited time if a similar role opens later. If you want us to delete it, say so when you write to us.

When roles are listed, apply through the contact published with the listing. If no roles are listed, you may still write to Superadmin through official in-app chat or the careers contact in the app and tell us what you want to work on.

Please do not send passwords, private keys, or customer data as part of an application. Do not create an account whose name includes RAURA in order to look official.

We cannot answer every speculative message personally, but we do read them when we are hiring.

Internships and early career

From time to time we may offer internships or short projects. Those programs will have a written description of hours, mentorship, and whether they are paid.

We do not ask students to run unofficial RAURA pages as a tryout. If someone claiming to hire for RAURA asks you to buy equipment or pay a fee, it is not us.

What the work feels like

A normal week can include a public post bug, a chat unread-count debate, a kitchen order issue, and a policy update. The through-line is making a social product that still feels human.

We document decisions. If we change how notifications work, we want a future teammate to see why chat no longer appears in that list.
